A sampling of Sharon's creative blog designs...

We asked Sharon to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said...

I am a proud Texas girl, but now live in Nashville, Tennessee with my talented husband, Kevan, and our precious baby girl, Merit.

I was an elementary teacher for three years, but have always had an appreciation for design of all kinds. During my time at school, I was the go-to-girl for projects such as faculty shower invitations and classroom newsletter layouts, and changing the design of my classroom calendar was a highlight each month. :) During after-school hours, I began to enjoy digital scrapbooking and card-making. Being creative in such a way quickly became a passion of mine.

In the Spring of 2008, we welcomed baby Merit into our family. Kevan and I had always planned for me to stay at home when we started having babies, so even though it seemed financially impossible, we decided to try to make it work. To do what I could to help out, I decided in October to start my own little design business. It was something that made perfect sense...staying home with Merit AND being creative for a living. It has been an adventure, and I thank God everyday that I am able to live out two of my dreams at once. You can read more about our family on my personal blog, sharonthefun.blogspot.com.

Here's what Sharon told us about her design services...

I really enjoy blog design. I have packages that include headers only all the way to a full blog redesign. I tend to favor vintage designs, and if a client gives me free reign, a vintage-whimsical feel is most likely what I'm going to create. However, I can create any type of style that you can dream up! I will always do my very best to be sure that my client loves the final design and truly feels that it represents their unique character. I currently do full redesigns for Blogger, and offer header designs for Wordpress and Etsy shops.

Sharon designs more than blogs...

In addition to blog design, I offer services for printed products, such as invitations, announcements, business cards and brochures, logo design, and t-shirt design. Currently, I send my client a jpeg file, and they are able to print where and however they wish!

Some of Traci's creative blog designs...

We asked Traci to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said...

I am a former teacher and stay at home mother of two who finally found her dream job. While taking my son to special schools and therapy for autism, I learned web design by reading some books in my car waiting for him. Crazy, right? I started playing with the graphics by asking my friends to let me experiment on their blogs.

I started Sweet Cheeky Designs in August of 2008 and I have already been so blessed with customers who want a unique and creative blog redesign.

Since moving from Texas to Northwest Arkansas in the fall of 2008, both of my kids are in school full-time and I get to spend my day redesigning blogs and learning the website end of it all. I enjoy each new customer and will never make the same design twice. I want your blog to portray you and I will work until you love, love, love it!

5) This giveaway ends: Wednesday, 3/11 at 7:00 PM ET. We'll select a random winner then post their name here on BBA and email them after the contest ends. Good luck!

:: We asked Judi to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said...

I am a stay at home mom of the most wonderful children in the world (of course). Shortly after leaving my 8-5 job I became pregnant with my son. He was born 3-1/2 months early. He was in NICU for 2-1/2 months. That experience really taught me more about what is important in life. Thank God he is a healthy and happy 3 year old now!

I started blogging in 2006 and quickly became addicted to it. I love connecting with people through blogging. I also quickly realized I was always interested in having a new look for my personal blog (
For True Life). So, I taught myself blog template design. Once I got into it, I opened Doodlebug Designs in hopes of bringing in a little extra money and doing what I had come to love at the same time.

I work hard to provide each client with what they are looking for in a design. I want each and every client to be 100% satisfied with the work I do for them.

:: Here's what Judi told us about her design services...

I provide all types of design services from buttons and banners to fully customized blog designs for Blogger and Word Press users. I also design Twitter backgrounds.

I like to think my “style” is very diverse. I focus on creating the design that the client has envisioned for their site. I go out of my way to make sure I don’t get stuck in the rut of creating “cookie cutter” designs, you know, the ones that all start looking the same. So, whether you want scrapbook style, whimsical, professional, simple, feminine, or whatever, I can do it for you!

I try to keep my waiting list moving along so that my clients don’t have to wait an extremely long time to get their design. Being a blogger myself I know when you want a new design you don’t really want to wait forever for it! I work on several blogs at one time in order to facilitate that.

:: Here are a few of Judi's creative blog designs...

:: Judi also said...

I love working with people. I have made many friends through this venture. Some of them have become very close friends. That has been one of the perks of the business. I have truly been blessed.

2) Earn one entry by leaving a comment on this post telling us your favorite design from Krizzy Designs.

5) This giveaway ends: Wednesday, 3/4 at 7:00 PM ET. We'll select a random winner then post their name here on BBA and email them after the contest ends. Good luck!

Here's a little about the designer. We asked Krystyn to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said...

I am a mom of 2 girls (27 months and 3 months old). I am a high school science teacher with a BS and MS in Chemistry...so graphic design is totally not my background. I've learned a little bit through some online classes, but mostly, trial and error and poking around.

I started by redesigning my own blog (reallyareyouserious.blogspot.com) and kept changing it up. Then, I helped some friends out and people started contacting me. I decided to start up a design site and see what happened, and Krizzy Designs was born.

I also am a certified (although not currently teaching) aerobics instructor. I guess you could say that I like to learn and figure out new things. Krizzy Designs keeps me busy on nights and weekends and brings in a little extra fun for me.

Here's what Krystyn told us about her design services.

I design the entire blog (header, background, signature, column headers, buttons, etc) or just pieces. From scrap book style, to smooth and sleek, to using royalty-free images; I'm willing to try whatever the customer wants.

I also love to do greeting cards (birth announcements, holiday cards, party invites, etc) as well. I like to create a design that totally suites the customer's needs.

We have received great feedback from all of you on our weekly Blog Designer Spotlights. It seems that so many of you want a new blog look and are turning to these creative blog designers that we are spotlighting here on BBA.

Berries and Cream Blog Design - How yummy is your blog?

Next up is Berries and Cream Blog Design. Berries and Cream is the re-branded, re-designed version of RS Designs. They just relaunched on February 14, so they are having a two-week launch party with sales and prizes! She is also offering BBA readers a special discount. The details are at the bottom of this post.

Revka Stearns is the creative mind behind Berries and Cream Blog Design. Head on over to her site to check out her store sale and giveaways over the next two weeks!

We asked Revka to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said.

I am a stay-at-home Mompreneur. On August 21, I will have been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years. We have 4 children - three girls and one boy.

I have always been a creative person; I majored in music education in college and have taught private piano lessons for 15 years. Before I started my personal blog, The Porch Light, in 2006, I knew nothing about blogs or blog design. Once I began blogging, I started visiting other blogs and loved the unique designs they had.

I eventually discovered my computer's photo editing program and realized that I could create custom images. Then I realized that people would actually pay me to create designs from them, and the rest is history.

Here's what Revka told us about her design services.

Berries and Cream Blog Design specializes in creating simply delicious blog designs for women, particularly mommy bloggers and WAHMs. With an A La Carte Menu, custom design packages, custom advertising/branding packages, and pre-made designs, Berries and Cream Blog Design offers just about anything you could want or need for your blog's design.

Although most of our clients use Blogger or self-hosted WordPress, we will work with any platform that allows you to access and edit your template's code.

Our 100% satisfaction guarantee and no-limit revision policy ensures that our clients have final say in their design. Because our clients' design vision is what guides us, the designs we have created cover a wide variety of styles from cute to scrapbook to professional to simple.

**Revka is offering BBA readers a discount of $10 off an order of $30 or more. The code to be entered at checkout is BBAreaders (case sensitive). This discount code is valid through March 31, 2009. Thanks, Revka!

Blog Designer Spotlight: ScrapBlog Designs by Hilary + GIVEAWAY!

:: THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. CLICK HERE TO SEE IF WE HAVE A NEW GIVEAWAY ON BBA.

:: Don't miss Hilary's BLOG MAKEOVER GIVEAWAY at the bottom of this post.

This week's featured blog designer is the talented Hilary of ScrapBlog Designs by Hilary. She's the creative designer behind a BBA favorite - Quadville: The McNulty Quads Blog. Hilary is a student at The Ohio State University, majoring in Psychology. Her goal is to become a nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She tried her hand at blog design and realized it was "a good opportunity for a poor college student to make a few extra bucks on the side."

We asked Hilary to tell us about herself and her design background. Here's what she said.

I became a blogger in my early high school years and have been hooked since then! My personal blog is Hilary's Place in Cyberspace, which I started in October of 2007.

Image and web design has been a favorite hobby of mine that started after I took a few Adobe Photoshop and web design classes in high school. After searching the web for a source that would make my blog look "pretty" and coming up short, I decided to try my hand in blog design. Through trial and error, I have taught myself a lot of what I know now. I also give credit to many different websites that offer free Blogger and Photoshop tutorials.
Here's what Hilary told us about her design services.

As my design blog's name suggests, my blog layouts have a scrapbook look to them. I mostly offer full blog layout designs with a variety of add-on options, but if you are looking for just a blog header, button, or custom signature, that can be arranged too. Right now, I am only making blog designs for those with a blog through Blogger.

I currently work with various digital scrapbooking artists to provide unique graphics with a scrapbook look. If you don't see something offered on my blog design site that
you want to be incorporated into your blog design, just send me an e-mail and I will try my best to make it work!
What's your turn around?

My turn around depends on how busy I am at any given point, but it is usually ever more than 1 to 2 weeks from the time of payment. I create my blog designs in two different stages...first I create the blog header and then the rest of the blog layouts.
Hilary's outlook on blog design.

I love providing my blog design services to others. It often leaves the recipient glowing with a renewed motivation to share their lives with others, through their newly "beautified" blog. Since I started my blog designing endevour, I have met countless people who have personally touched my life in a way I never thought was possible. I can say that, without a doubt, the blog designing industry is one that is unique in and of itself...one that I am so greatful to be a part of.
Here are some of Hilary's designs:

I am a graphic designer by trade, and a mother at heart. I have an MFA in Graphic Design, with over 8 years experience in the industry. When my son was born 2 years ago, I decided to take up the laptop and be a stay-at-home-mom/freelancer. Working from home is a wonderful way to give my family the attention they need, while continuing to develop my creativity and skills.

In the past 2 years I have enjoyed working for scrapbook company Glitz Design, and launching Banners By Lyndsay blog design. We are expecting another addition to our family—a baby girl in March! My personal blog is lyndsayj.blogspot.com.

Hi new friends! I'm Jenny (also known as Jennifer,) a 27 year-old newlywed from the great state of Texas! When I'm not designing blogs, I spend my time loving the Lord, teaching Kindergarten, learning how to be a good wife, kissing my weenie dog Bailey, leading worship, watching The Office, reading chick-lit, and blogging on my personal blog, Song of my Life.

I started Pink Armchair Designs in February 2008 as a creative outlet with hopes of building a full-fledged home business. My desire is that by the time we have children, Pink Armchair Designs will be developed enough as a business that I'll be able to stay home with the kids.

Check out some of Kelly's creative headers here:

We asked Kelly to tell us about herself and her design background. I love how much she uses the word "fabulous".
My passions are graphic and interior design, fashion, art, photography and all things fabulous. I initially started Fabulous K Creative as a creative outlet for myself. My design background is completely self taught, aside from a few PhotoShop pointers from my (graphic designer) uncle.

I was constantly changing the design of personal blog and soon started designing blogs for my friends. When I started receiving custom design requests from random people, I new it was time to start a business!

My designs have gradually gotten more detailed and no two are alike, which I think is fabulous. I love the entire design process, from helping my clients figure out what their 'style' is, to (my favorite) the big 'reveal'. I believe that your blog is your "home" on the web and it should reflect the fabulous person you are!

Here's what Kelly told us about her design services.
I am able to design professional style blogs and specialize in "scrapbook chic" blogs (as I like to call them). They are detailed, layered and personalized.

I offer everything from a basic header to a deluxe full redesigns, making sure that my offerings are affordable for every budget. I have recently begun offering other services, such as invitations, birth announcements and etsy banners, and am excited to be expanding my business.

Turnaround time is usually less than a week and I keep in touch with my clients through the whole process. For me, it's all about making it fabulous and fun from start to finish!

Blog Designer Spotlight: DCR Design

We've spotlighted a few blog designers in the past here on BBA, but now we've decided to feature great blog designers weekly. With the new year, we know many of you bloggers are ready for a fresh new look with your blog, so look no further than our Blog Designer Spotlights.

First up is Jo-Lynne of DCR Design. She is "Beautifying the Blogosphere" and for that, we thank her.

We asked Jo-Lynne to tell us about herself and her design background. "I'm a mom of three, and we live in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I retired from teaching 3rd grade when I was 27 and became a full-time mom. I did some medical transcription from home at times. I discovered blogging in the spring of 2006, and that has gone from being a fun hobby to a part time job with lots of amazing perks.

My personal blog is Musings of a Housewife. I have a product review blog at Reviewsings.com, and I am the founder and managing editor of a beauty and fashion blog called Chic Critique. I also write for the Philadelphia Moms Blog.

I decided to try my hand at designing blogs after I realized what a market there was for it. I credit Jules at Everyday Design for getting me started off on the right foot. She advised me to learn Adobe Illustrator and gave me some instruction over the phone, but beyond that, I basically taught myself."

Here's what Jo-Lynne told us about her design services. "I offer a range of services including headers, buttons, and full blog makeovers. I design for Blogger, Typepad, and Wordpress. I work with the girls at Desperately Seeking Wordpress for Wordpress installations. I also do business cards (and mommy cards).

My philosophy of blog design is to keep the design elements minimal and showcase the content. I've been told my designs are very clean. I also am a huge advocate of using dark print on white background in the content sections; it's much easier on the eyes.

My turn around time is generally 2 to 3 weeks. I work on several designs at a time and try to keep them moving along. I'm committed to being accessible and responsive and to keep my clients apprised of their place in my queue so they don't have to wonder when I'm going to get to their project.

I just love making things pretty, and I think having a unique design is an essential component to a successful blog. Even if you're just updating your family and friends from afar and have no intention of making money or building a brand, your blog will be more enjoyable and more memorable if you have a custom blog design!"

Free Blogger Templates:
The Cutest Blog on the Block

The Cutest Blog on the Block offers some adorable designer backgrounds for free! And best of all, they say that you will NOT loose any information such as links, widgets, or html codes!

You may have noticed quite a few of these templates popping up on blogs lately. They have a subtle box in the upper left corner that says Free backgrounds and more at CutestBlogOnTheBlock.com.

I would recommend choosing a background that is not too busy. The background stays put as the text scrolls, so it is a little difficult to read the text on blogs with any pattern on the middle column of the template.

You can even choose holiday backgrounds and switch them out as each holiday nears.

Have any of you used The Cutest Blog on the Block's templates? Leave us a comment letting us know what you think. Any tips would be great too.

I've come across a few blogs designed by Blogs for a Cause and realized it needed to be featured here in our blog designer spotlight on BBA, so all of you can check out these great designs too.

For $20, you can get a new template while 100% of your money goes to help 2 charities through Blogs for a Cause. Check out Nikki's welcome message from her launch in November where she talks about her upcoming humanitarian trip to the Dominican Republic for the month of July.

Nikki has quite an extensive list including 4tunate, the Murray Crew Quads' Blog, who we featured on Baby Blog Addict last July.

Blog Designer Spotlight: Once Upon a Blog

Here's another fabulous blog designer for all of you Baby Blog Addicts. Jennisa is the designer behind Once Upon A Blog. She is a stay-at-home mom of two who designs blogs in her spare time and has a wait list for a reason...she is very creative and has some adorable blog designs at reasonable prices.

Check out her portfolio of blog designs she's already completed. One of my favorite features is that she has some digital design kit options posted that you can look at and let her know which style you would like her to use for your blog. And they are all soooo cute!
