Brushing Toddlers' Teeth

Does anyone have suggestions for brushing toddlers' teeth when they want nothing to do with it?

I've heard of using a kids battery toothbrush like this one. Any other suggestions? Let us know in the comments section or on our forum.

We have both a musical (it plays music for the length of time you need to brush) and also one like the one you posted, but it is My Little Pony.

Sadly, I don't have any advice as all three of our girls LOVE to have their teeth brushed, but they also all got tooth brushes as teething toys... GOOD LUCK!!!

My twins have been harder to brush their teeth than their older sister. I usually say something like "let me count your teeth!" and count really slow and enthusiastically while they sit their wide open. Then I tell them the total number (of course still sounding so excited) and they smile.

My husband got Jack to stick out his tongue, so he could brush it too. I was shocked, since I have a difficult time getting Jack to keep his mouth open when brushing his teeth.

Now that he likes to stick out his tongue and get it brushed, it makes brushing his teeth a little easier too.
