A friend in our playgroup brings her child to work every day. She's an associate professor... her first semester back was all office and research, so she just put a pack 'n play in her office. Then the next semester back she had to teach a few classes in the afternoons so she had a sitter in her office during that time. She said it worked out great for the first 18 months. (her hubby is now a stay at home dad) It was more of a distraction for her male colleagues who wanted to visit her son than it was for her... plus she was able to nurse him full time... no pumping! How nice is that?!
