Sharing the Nest

When a new baby arrives, the experience can obviously be a trying one for the child who used to get all the attention. The issue is addressed in this morning's Washington Post:

"...A few firstborns are immediately enchanted, and stay enchanted, by the new baby and can't do enough to help, while other firstborns are negative from the start, like the little boy who angrily washed his mother's best dress in the dishwasher or the 4-year-old who refused to look at the baby when she came home. He had ordered a brother, he said, and got a sister instead."
